"To me, the Philippines is not a "hello" and "good-bye" but an, "I'll see you again soon."

Philippine Home: San Pablo City, Laguna (ancestral home) / Pandacan, Manila
American Home: Waterbury, Vermont (she's moved a lot)
Current Home: Ithaca, NY

You'll find Sierra in a very simple place. She doesn't like a lot of stuff, even though her mom loves buying clothes. She prefers simple stuff, simple colors, but a lot of memorable gifts, and a lot of books.

Her ideal work space is somewhere with some white noise, people milling around, and chill music. She doesn't really like extremely quiet spaces.

She's comfortable being the… Connector | Builder | Storyteller

She enjoys talking to different types of people and sharing experiences.

She feels especially productive… Saturday mornings and the night before a big assignment.

Try not to disturb her… when she's had too little sleep.

She sees herself helping Kaya Co. grow by… connecting us to people. She doesn’t think she's an extrovert but she's someone who likes to know people on a personal level. Especially within Filipino communities she sees herself engaging a lot of young filams through the fellowship and other programs. She hopes to share her experience and the experiences of the fellows, connecting their stories with the stories of filams here.

She’d like to grow through Kaya Co. by… fulfilling her strong desire to help the Philippines. She feels like that calling to give back to the Philippines in a meaningful way has to be part of being a diaspora baby. She's thankful that Kaya Co. gives us that platform to do something big, to hopefully influence others here that there is something we can do despite the barriers that we often say hinders us.

Her favorite animal… is the manatee! Because they're just so cute and chubby.

Her "aesthetic"… "They call me swagriculture/corn star/agricool/anything that has to do with agriculture."

One thing you should know… she always tries to find a connection between any person she meets, whether it's a taxi driver, or some really important person, or even just a student.
